A bit about me…

I’m Melissa, aka Mel! I moved to Las Vegas in my twenties from Southern CA to begin my beauty journey in cosmetology school. Not long after, life took me to the NH seacoast (an hour north of Boston,) where I spent the next ten years growing both personally and professionally. During that time, I expanded into skincare, earned my esthetics license, and eventually opened my full-service spa and salon, The Beauty Bar.

While I loved building a space and working closely with clients, my heart was always on the West Coast — and in weddings. I eventually made the move back to Las Vegas to focus exclusively on bridal hair and makeup, where I could combine everything I love most about the industry: artistry, connection, and being part of such an important moment in someone’s life.

I trained at the Make Up For Ever Academy in New York City and the Academy of Freelance Makeup in London, and I’m both a licensed cosmetologist and esthetician. Understanding the science behind hair and skin has always been important to me, and I believe thoughtful technique and attention to detail are what allow hair and makeup to look beautiful and last comfortably throughout the entire day.

Outside of weddings, you’ll usually find me traveling, spending time with my two dogs, or experimenting with sourdough at home. My approach to beauty is simple — it should feel effortless, personal, and true to you — and that same mindset carries into every wedding morning I’m a part of.
